Preschool roundup
We are pleased to announce that the Nene Valley Railway Santa trip will be taking place on the 11th December. Further details for those attending will be given out nearer the time.  We are closed on this day.

Our parent partnership board is up in the foyer. We love our parents to be involved with the learning that takes place here; we show you what your child will be learning during the half term they are at playgroup and offer some suggestions for things that you can do at home or whilst out so you can continue their learning and build on their experiences. Please share these with us via tapestry, pictures or email.

As we head into the winter months, If we get particularly bad weather/snowy conditions, we follow the guidelines set by Buckden School re closures etc. The best way to check in those conditions is to log on to the school website; they post closures on their front page. www.buckdenschool.co.uk

Our theme/topic

We continued with the Halloween theme/children’s interest for the first week back and had some great fun, colouring Halloween pictures, making witch hats, wizard hats and spider webs, and got messy on the 31st with pumpkin carving, exploring slime and dressing up.

We shall be making a poppy display to commemorate the fallen for Remembrance Day and hopefully a few children will get to attend the short service at the church on the 11th November.

Heading towards December, we shall be learning about winter and making our own snowflakes. The quiet area/den will become an igloo and in the sensory tray, we will be exploring snow. The children will have the chance to make a variety of Christmas and winter crafts.

Our Committee

We are thrilled that parents/carers have come forward to join our committee. We are more than happy to have more members on the committee, so if any parents know of anyone (it doesn’t have to be a parent; it can be a grandparent or village member) that would like to join us, please come and speak to Sam. This year will be the 50th year of the playgroup being open and it will be a very exciting time to join. We need a committee to stay in operation.

We shall inform you soon of the roles and whom and has filled them.

The Annual AGM will be taking place on the 6th November and is held here in the evening at 7.30pm, all are welcome to come along.

Fundraisers & dates for the diary

22nd November – Christmas mini market and pamper night 7pm – 9pm, tickets are on sale at the preschool, early bird offer available so don’t miss out.

1st December – The village Light switch on will be taking place, we are delighted that we will be running the Santa Grotto this year.

16th December – Children’s Christmas concert, to be held in the Lincoln room at 2.15pm, parents can be seated from 2pm. Can all parents whose children do not attend on this day please bring them along for the concert, they would have worked hard to learn the songs for you so as much support as possible would be good.

19th December – Children’s Christmas party, 12pm – 3pm. ALL the children are invited to join us for a lovely Christmas party filled with games, fun, and a visit from Father Christmas!!  (I will place a food list up for parents to contribute some items towards the party nearer the time). If your child does not attend on this day but you wish for them to join us, please let Sam know ASAP.

20th December – the children will enjoy a Christmas film, some snacks and popcorn. Children are welcome to come in their P. J’s or onesies and snuggle up in the cushions on the last day of term. Reminder we close at 12pm.
