Our Committee
Our committee will very soon need more members, as some of our current amazing team will soon be leaving after many dedicated years to the preschool to start their child in school life.
The next committee meeting is taking place on 8th May at 7.30pm at The George in Buckden.
If we don’t manage to sign up enough committee members, we will have no option but to close the preschool. After 50 years of being a part of the community, this would be very sad, so PLEASE go along and find out more.
Beans!
Thank you to everyone who has shared their child’s bean-growing progress with us. They are very proud of their accomplishments. We know there have been a couple of bean growing mishaps, but the children have got to see the one we have here, so don’t worry.
The bean is now yours to cherish and continue to grow with your child.
Reminders and notices:
- We are hoping for warmer weather this term, so please provide a labelled sun hat for your child. You must apply sun cream before your child attends their session. We will only reapply sun cream to children who attend all day and only if you have provided a labelled bottle for us. Don’t forget their labelled water bottle too.
- Can all parents whose children will be moving up to primary school this year please provide a labelled PE kit for their child. We want to help them prepare for these lessons once they start school.
- Please remember to tell us once you have found out your child’s allocated school. We can then hand out a leavers form and start the transition forms.
- Please remember, if you want to join our Facebook Parents’ page to see what has been going on at preschool and keep up to date with recent news, then please speak to Nicola or Gemma, who can add you.
Themes and Topics
Our current theme is People Who Help Us. We are currently in the process of asking several visitors to come in over this period to talk to the children about their professions. Watch this space!
NEW for preschool:
We have now added a SHOW Dance session once a week. The 3+ will learn a dance routine around a mash-up of 3-4 songs!! Exciting times. This will be run by our very own staff member Gemma; who has lots of experience in drama, dance and singing. I can’t wait to see the final dance number. ?
Staff news
After being on long-term sick leave, Cori has decided to leave the Preschool. Her key children have been covered by their back-up keyworkers, and this will continue until we review keyworking next term.
