Newsletter – December 2018

Preschool roundup

Well what a fun packed December we have lined up, there are lots of dates for the diary, so please have your calendars to hand to make a note of everything so your child doesn’t miss out.

As the weather turns colder, please ensure your child has suitable clothing and footwear, inc. labelled hats and gloves.

We have recently had to send children home in our spare clothes, can these please be returned as soon as possible, a gentle reminder that every child should have a bag with spare clothes on their peg.

Could all parents whose children are in nappies please ensure they are changed and clean before attending the preschool. We know last minute soiling occurs, but it can be quite uncomfortable for the child to be in a soiled nappy for so long.

Funding…
A reminder: if your child turns three years old (3) before the 31st December, they will automatically be entitled to the 15 hours free government funding; speak to staff for more details.
If your child is extending or decreasing their current funding hours next term (Jan – April 2019), please speak to Estelle or Sam S. Thank you to those that have already informed us.

Staff news… Our lovely Alison will be taking a small step back in January. She has decided to take on the role as our bank staff and hand over the literacy and school leaver role to Sarah. We hope to still see Alison lots, but we will be sad it won’t be as much as we’d all like. We’d like to thank her for all her contributions to the preschool; the children and staff will miss her happy face.

Fundraiser
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our recent fundraisers. The committee fundraiser has organised some lovely events recently for the whole family, so please keep an eye out for our next set of fundraisers. Since September we have raised over £450 for the playgroup; thank you for supporting us.

Dates for the Diary….

Friday 7th Dec – Open day, come along with your child and your friends’ children and experience the sensory circuits and enjoy some Christmas crafts, we are running this from 9am – 12pm to help promote the playgroup to the village, so spread the word, we’d love to see you there.

Wednesday 12th Dec – The preschool is closed for our annual parent partnership trip to Nene valley Railway – we look forward to seeing you there!

Thursday 13th Dec – Our Christmas visit to the church. All families are welcome to join us at 9.30 am at the church if this is not their child’s normal session.

Tuesday 18th Dec – Our Christmas concert will be taking place and you can be seated from 1.45pm for a 2pm start. If your child does not normally attend this session then please bring them in for 1.40pm. A lovely way to get into the festive spirit and support the children with a sing along.
All children are invited to wear festive clothes.

Wednesday 19th Dec – Children’s Christmas party. From 12.00pm – 2.00pm the children will be enjoying party food, dancing, playing games and receiving a gift from father Christmas. Collection at 2pm please.
If your child does not normally attend on this day, they may come along and join in the festive fun, you will need to book a place for this, so we know how many will be attending.
A food list has been placed up for all parents to contribute something to the party food.

Thursday 20th Dec – A chilled out morning with a Christmas film, children can come in their onesies or pyjamas and bring a teddy to snuggle up to.
